I had an absolutely delicious lunch here. The scallion pancake with egg was crispy and came with a spicy sauce, which added a bit of a kick. The lu rou fan was perfectly saucy with lots of tender meat and a gooey soy egg. The beef noodle soup was good, pretty close to what my Taiwanese mom would make at home. It's pretty tight on seating, so keep that in mind when you come; I had no issues walking in since I came on a weekday for lunch, but I can see this place getting packed quickly on a weekend.

the place is very small yet cozy and intimate. service was great - water was refilled ~3 times and waiter asked us how the food was. the appetizer was very comforting and had a slightly spicy rich sauce that paired nicely. the lou rou fan was simple and the slightly crunchy and toasted cabbage complimented the softness of the rice and meat well. the jammy egg was a little cold but i loved it. the beef noodle soup was very rich, tasted like chili oil, and the noodles and beef were soft.

Such good Taiwanese food! Reminds me of being back in Taiwan. Everything was excellent. My favorite dish was the scallion pancake with egg. The spicy sauce with this dish was so delicious too -- I don't know what it is and it's not something you get in Taiwan but it was delicious with the pancake. The chili wontons were excellent too. I love the chili sauce. My husband felt like the beef noodle soup is the best one he's had in America. I would definitely come back to try more of the breakfast items! We left feeling suuuper full so could not try any more

I can't stop thinking about this meal... The fan tuan was perfectly sweet and crunchy, a perfect accompaniment to any meal. The beef noodle soup is to die for, seriously. The flavor and richness of the broth with the homemade noodles and tender beef is seriously one of the best, if not the best, noodle soups I've had in NYC. The flavor palate is the perfect combination without being too salty or rich. The restaurant is very small and best for small groups (specifically 1-2 people) as larger parties may have a longer wait time (don't get me wrong, the wait is worth it). I'm eager to return and try the raddish cake and savory soy milk! The staff are all extremely nice and make this experience even better!

Ho Foods was the perfect place us to walk right up to and grab a table for breakfast. They don't have a ton of seats so we either got lucky or came at the right time! We ordered the breakfast for 2 and I'd say it's the absolute perfect thing to order as you get to try everything for an extremely reasonable price. Everything across the board was simple but done just really really well. The main drink options are soy milk either hot or cold and then sweet/original. We both got the hot sweet soy milk and it was so comforting. Dipping the Yo Tiao in it was a fantastic texture and really fun experience. The Yo Tiao was a fried donut that wasn't sweet and I loved that it wasn't sugary. Fan Tuan in general is always really really good but this one was HUGE. The crueler inside was extremely crispy, this version was really pork floss heavy but still really happy about the whole thing. Scallion pancake with egg was a really good scallion pancake compared to the many I've had. The sauce that came with it was phenomenal. The radish cake I think for me was the star of the show. WOW it was insane, I've never had anything like it before, it was crispy, gooey, sweet, savory. It was everything and the sauce paired perfect with it. All in all I loved this place and it's a place I want to take people in the future because it would be so fun!

One of my favorite Chinese foods is savory soy milk and I've been on the search for my favorite one in the city! Foods: Savory soy milk: It's served spicy with chopped pieces of yo tiao. The soy milk itself has a nice flavor, I haven't had it spicy before but I liked it. It's a pretty big portion too and perfect for a cold day since it's served hot. The pieces of yo tiao were a little too fried and crunchy, I would've appreciated it to be crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Yo tiao: This was a pretty long yo tiao and perfect for dipping into the savory milk. Cooked perfectly! The servers were so friendly and the food came out quickly. It's a pretty small restaurant that gets very busy so the wait can take a while. I came on a weekend and waited about 45 minutes to get seated, but they have a QR code to scan to hold your place in line on the waitlist.

As someone who never properly had Taiwanese breakfast before, this place definitely hits the spot. It's a small cozy restaurant with very limited seating. I was a party of 2 on a Sunday and waited around 40 minutes until I could get seated. The staff were friendly and very accommodating! I ordered the Savory Soy Milk, Beef Noodle Soup, Fan Tuan, and Scallion Pancake with Egg. My favorite was definitely the Savory Soy Milk. It really hit the spot on a very cold day. It was flavorful with a hint of spice because of the bits of chili oil. I was surprised by the crunchy You Tiao (Deep Fried Dough) instead of it being soft and chewy. It added a nice texture to the meal, but I think I would've preferred it more if it was soft and chewy. Overall, everything I ordered was delicious and I had no complaints. I shared everything we got with a friend and we were so full by the end. I would highly recommend this place and would go for brunch. I really enjoy their breakfast items and would definitely come back again. If you don't want to wait for a seat inside the restaurant, you can take some of their breakfast items to go.

We ordered the 2 ppl beef noodle set for $68. It comes with a cucumber salad, chili wontons, small lu rou fan, and 2 beef noodle soups. The cucumber salad is refreshing but not exactly the same flavour as you would get in Taiwan. Small lu rou fan is good but their version is a little bit too oily for my taste. I saw on the menu that the large lu rou fan is $20, which is ridiculous...I know we're in New York, but give me a break, minced pork is not an expensive type of meat. The beef noodle soup is flavourful and the meat is soft, the best part is the noodles. Both the thin and thick noodles are al dente with a bit of a bite, which I love. Their noodles also tasted very fresh, not sure if they make it in house. Their soy milk is very creamy and flavourful, much better than the ones I've made at home with my soy milk machine. The yo-tiao (crispy fried dough bread that you eat with the soy milk) was done well. However it came at the end of the meal while the soy milk was served at the beginning. People like to dip yo-tiao in the soy milk so it should not have come at the end of the meal - by then ppl might have finished their soy milk or the soy milk has gone cold. This timing doesn't make any sense. We also tried the Dan Bing (Taiwanese egg crepe) and tbh this is not really Dan Bing crepe...the outside was more similar to green onion pancake. The sauce is also not the usual Dan Bing sauce. The spicy wonton is ok, nothing special. The Fantuan (sticky rice ball) has good sticky rice but I can't really judge this bc we didn't get the usual recommended fillings bc one of our party is vegetarian so this Fantuan with just yo-tiao is pretty bland and boring. Unfortunately at our visit our server had dropped a plate of sweet sticky soy sauce on the floor and on my bag. They were very apologetic and tried to wipe it off for me but they didn't get it all off and as I was walking around the city my hands would suddenly feel sticky from the residue, which definitely subtracted from the experience. The employees were all really friendly though. Overall, flavours were pretty good, one of the better and more legitimate Taiwanese flavours in New York. Some items were definitely better than the others. Price is high though. I'll probably come back if I'm really craving Taiwanese food.
